  • Hey there, I'm Lanny (Elandria)
Welcome to my tumblr blog which will mostly be about....

Ruffles. Pleats. Randomness. Costuming. Books. Architecture. Gaming. Art. Fantasy. Scifi. Anything I find interesting.

    Much waffle.

Walt Disney Acquires ‘Labyrinth’ Pitch

labyrinthnook:

EXCLUSIVE: Walt Disney Pictures has acquired Labyrinth, a pitch by Larry Brenner for an action/adventure story about the journey of the mythical princess who must enter the complex and dangerous Labyrinth to save her father.

All is revealed - it looks like Disney have started to reveal their true reasons for acquiring Lucas Film (which will have given them a partial stake in Labyrinth).

Just for the sake of clarification - the Disney Labyrinth is - in theory - completely independent of the Jim Henson Labyrinth. The two films just happen to share the same title and have a plot where a young girl rescues a family member by traversing a dangerous maze. Make of that what you will.

The lengths Disney goes to knows no bounds.  (Though I hardly think Labyrinth comes close to the Star Wars franchise in terms of potential future revenue for Disney when they acquired (then closed down half of it) Lucas Film

Somebody please find me a blank stare emote immediately. -.-

The Golden Train. Edmund Blair Leighton (English, Pre-Raphaelite, 1853-1922). Oil on panel.
The correct title for this picture is “Lui sa ‘aime elle suit,” which translates as “After her love she follows.” It was probably inspired by the interior at 14 Priory Road, Bedford Park, the house and studio to which the artist moved in 1889, two years before he painted this picture. According to the artist’s granddaughter, the house was replete with richly coloured panelling and Persian carpets.

One of my all time favourite artists.  DeviantART prints community is asking
If you could study under any Artist or Author dead or alive, who would it be? http://printscommunity.deviantart.com/journal/poll/3610446/

Edmund Blair Leighton, or John William Waterhouse would be my first choices for artists :)

oh, how sad
it’s a debutante’s presentation gown, but being presented at court was abolished in the 50’s, so it’s one of the last
